Brendon's URL: New Android "virus"? [SOLUTION]

Android users all around the globe are having a strange experience as some of them got a file which is supposedly a virus, malware or adware invading their devices. These users report that out of nowhere, they got a file named "Brendon's url". Many speculations suddenly surfaced and soon this has become a trending topic in social networks. What could it be?

The first thing that happens when your device gets hit by this is having a notification that is in Chinese, followed by another notification with "Brendon's url" in the title and Chinese characters in the description. Note that there is also a notification of "Software Update". This means that it has something to do with it. Whether you are rooted or non-rooted, you may get hit with the malicious file as long as you're online.

Afterwards, the homescreen of the device gets filled with files with the name "brendon's url" and another with Chinese characters which were suggested to mean "Big Apple" (confirmation needed).

According to someone who can read Chinese:
"Wow that does look sketchy. o.o The description under "Brendon's url" says "a very cool website" (reminds me of those phishing sites lol), while the one under the "Big Apple" literally writes as "Ke Ke", I'm not familiar with the slang used in China but I think it could be either a name/slang or something (keke?). I could be wrong though. The file names in the 2nd picture are a little small to see clearly but they look like "Big Rubbish" (all 5 of them)."

Thus, it is advised not to click these files/notifications. Some users say that after deleting these, they just come back. Also, other users see an "X" in their homescreen as pictured below.

POSSIBLE SOLUTION:

For the safety of your privacy, head to your Settings/Apps/All and force stop, disable and clear data your OTA/firmware updater app as Chinese blackhats may have taken control of its server. You can also install CleanMaster & Antivirus apps to clean and wipe its traces in your system.
